Zobel gewog is located in the north east part of the Dzongkhag with a total area of approximately 67 Sq km sharing borders with Nanong and Shumar gewogs. It consists of 5 chiwogs namely Choongkhar-Pangthangdaza, Raysinang, Ngangmalang-Zorjoog, Maan-Tshelingor and Zobel with 10 villages. It has a population of about 3129 with 356 households. The gewog center is connected by 2 km farm road from the Dzongkhag road. There are 10 staff in the gewog which includes a Gup, Mangmi, Geydrung, caretaker, GAO and Tshogpas with 2 RNR extension officials.
Tseri and dryland cultivation dominate the land use pattern with maize cultivated as the main cereal crop. The gewog also produces livestock products like butter, cheese and eggs for income generation. The gewog has one agricultural cooperative at Tshelingor where the cooperative sells vegetables. The main cash crop grown is potatoes. Most of the villages are connected by farm roads and thus have easy access to the markets to sell agricultural and livestock products.
The gewog has infrastructures like one RNR center, one community information center, one BHU, one lower secondary school, one primary school which provide services to the public. There are 12 community and private lhakhangs with 50 chortens.
